Sanjay Gandhi was born in New Delhi, on 14 Dec 1946. He was younger son of Indira Gandhi, ex-Prime Minister of India. Sanjay Gandhi studied first at Welham Boys' School and then at the Doon School in Dehra Dun. Sanjay Gandhi obtained a commercial pilot's licence. While he was building a career as an airline pilot, independent of politics.

In June 1971 Sanjay Gandhi became Managing Directora of "Maruti Motors Limited'.



Sanjay Gandhi died in an air crash on 23 June 1980 near Safdarjung Airport in New Delhi. He was flying a new aircraft of the Delhi Flying club, and, while performing an aerobatic manoeuvre over his office, lost control and crashed.

Shyama Charan Shukla (27 Feb 1925 Raipur, Chhattisgarh — 14 Feb 2007 Raipur, Chhattisgarh)

Veteran Indian National Congress leader and served 3 times as Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh.

He was a member of Madhya Pradesh Legislative assembly from Rajim from year 1957 and later for years 1962, 1967, 1972, 1990, 1993 and 1998.

He was Chief Minister of the Madhya Pradesh from 26 March 1969 to 28 January 1972, 23 December 1975 to 29 April 1977 and 9 December 1989 to 4 March 1990.


He was Member of Parliament from Mahasamund in 1999.

Karmayogi M. B. Appasaheb Kadadi fondly known as M.B. Kadadi or Appasaheb was born on 15th September, 1909. Inspired from Mahatma Gandhi  and took an active part in the Swadeshi & Quit India Movements.

Appasaheb was also a founder member and chairman of ‘Sanchar‘, a daily newspaper. This Marathi language newspaper became famous for its impartial news & articles without any political bias.

He also took a leading part in founding the Solapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Solapur district.


Appasaheb’s belief that ‘Life is Duty‘ won him the love of masses. 
He died on 27. 02.1992.

Hussein Ahmed Madani (6 October 1879 - 1957) was an reknowned Islamic scholar from the Indian subcontinent.

His followers called him Shaykh al-Islām, Shaykh Ul Arab Wal Ajam to acknowledge his expertise in hadith and fiqh. He was among the first recipients of the civilian honour of Padma Bhushan in 1954.

Chelat Achutha Menon (13 January 1913 – 16 August 1991) was the Chief Minister of Kerala for 2 terms. The first term was from 1 November 1969 to 1 August 1970 and the second 4 October 1970 to 25 March 1977.

Born at Puthukkad, Thrissur District on 13 January 1913.
After schooling he went to studyLaw in Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram and scored the highest marks in Hindu Law. After the Law degree, he started legal practice in various courts of Thrissur, during which time he began to get involved in many social issues and joined CPI.

Aditya Vikram Birla

Aditya Vikram Birla was an Indian industrialist. Born into one of the largest business families of India. He was one of the first Indian industrialists to expand abroad, setting up plants in South East Asia, the Philippines and Egypt.

Birla was born on 14 November 1943 in Kolkata to industrialist Basant Kumar.  His grandfather Ghanshyam Das Birla was an associate of Mahatma Gandhi and had built his fortune on aluminum prospecting and as the manufacturer of the Ambassador car.

After attending St. Xavier's College in Kolkata, he earned a degree in chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, one of the best institutes of the world. His son Kumar Mangalam, who now heads the Aditya Birla Group.

He established different companies in various countries.

In 1993, Birla was supposedly diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was admitted to the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for treatment for prostate cancer, and died on 1 October 1995.


Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called Mr. Birla "Among the best and brightest citizens of India."

Sahir Ludhianvi is the pen name of Abdul Hayee (8 March 1921 – 25 October 1980) who is popularly known as Sahir, was an Indian Urdu poet and film lyricist.
His work influenced Indian cinema, in particular Bollywood films.
Sahir won a Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist for Taj Mahal (1963). He won a second Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist for his work on Kabhie Kabhie (1976) and he was awarded the Padma Shri in 1971.


On 8 March 1921, in a red sandstone haveli in Karimpura, Ludhiana, Punjab, India, Sahir was born to a Muslim family.Sahir was educated at the Khalsa High School in Ludhiana. He then enrolled at the Government College, Ludhiana. The auditorium there is named after him. As a college student, Sahir was popular for his Ghazals and Nazms & impassioned speeches.

In 1943, Sahir settled in Lahore. There, he completed Talkhiyaan, his first published work in Urdu.

In 1949, after partition, Sahir came to Delhi from Lahore. Then he moved to Bombay. He later lived in Andheri, a suburb of Mumbai. There, his neighbours included Gulzar, a poet and lyricist and Krishan Chander, an Urdu litterateur. In the 1970s, Sahir built a bungalow which he called Parchaiyaan, after one of his works, and lived there till his death.

On 8 March 2013, the ninety-second anniversary of Sahir's birth, a commemorative stamp was issued in his honor.
